SKOKIE, IL (April 9, 2002) - Tecta America Corp. today announced that it has
purchased the assets of Lavey Roofing Corporation, with operations in Santa Ana
and San Diego, CA and serving the Southern California market. The acquisition
brings the number of Tecta operations to 12, with 23 locations in total and over
1300 employees. Lavey was founded in 1980 as William H. Lavey and Associates and
has about 55 employees. Tecta America is privately held and has revenues of
approximately $200mm. The new business will operate as Lavey Roofing Services,
Inc.
"We are pleased to have Lavey Roofing Services as part of Tecta America,"
said Tecta America CEO Mark Santacrose. "The acquisition provides additional
strength on the West Coast and complements our Western Roofing Services
operation in San Francisco. By adding strategic geographic coverage, we are able
to serve our national and regional accounts more efficiently. "
Tecta America was formed in 1999 with the consolidation of ten of the
strongest commercial roofing companies in America. "Our strong foundation allows
us to continue to acquire companies that complement the Tecta America platform,"
noted Santacrose. "We will continue to identify likely candidates in strategic
areas as we grow our local business and build our national account
opportunities." Tecta also recently added locations in Birmingham, Alabama and
Ocean City, Maryland.
"I'm thrilled to join the Tecta group," said Dan Klein, who will continue as
president of Lavey Roofing Services. "The Tecta companies are extremely
well-respected in our industry and I look forward to working with them."
